... Buddha. You take a cable car across Lantau Island. We took the crystal cable car which had a glass bottom floor. It was an experience and a something everyone should try. Once we got there we climbed the 268 steps to the top of the Buddha. It was peaceful and fascinating. There are several Buddha statues in the Monastery which is where we headed next. My cousin and I tried the vegetarian restaurant at the monastery which we did ...

... While still in Kyoto, Caroline and I researched American-style restaurants in Hong Kong serving Thanksgiving meals. We found several, and while most of them were already booked, we managed to get a table for four at Dan Ryan's in the Victoria Place mall. After getting pork dishes mixed up and I think, but can't confirm that we ate ...

... guesthouses. With only one lift for every 7 or 8 floors, it was pretty tiring and time consuming work to even get to the right floor! With tempers fraying (Italians are far too emotional), we made it to the correct floor where we were greeted by some horrendous looking stairs and landings (see photos). Despite these we carried on into the somewhat cramped accommodation to be greeted by a very clean, nicely decorated ...

    ... school.

After the stewardesses served our meal, I decided to take a sleeping pill. It didn’t take long for it to kick in! I woke up frequently, and had to switch positions a lot. The seats on United are extremely cramped. Luckily, Long stretched out in the aisle and let me have the middle seat to sprawl out on. Thank goodness no one sat between us! We both sat there with our fingers crossed until the crew shut the door.

    The majority of the ...
