    Day 13
    Travelling day to Guiyang today. As normal we spent the day organising ourselves and relaxing before we headed to the train station at 4:30pm.For tea we had McDonalds. It was very much appreciated and was a mahoosive change from all the Chinese food we have been eating.

    ... Didi and granddaughter Mengya drove us to a historic town Qingyan. In our previous time in Guiyang we visited this former Ming-era military outpost a couple of times. Qingyan dates back to 1378 and was once a traffic between southwest provinces.

    In 1995 the town with its winding, smooth stone-flagged streets and partially restored city walls was a quiet haven for us to wander imagining what life would have been like.

    The space was still there although the noodles weren't. They were in their own shop now and still famous although from what was said they are peculiar to Guiyang and you can't get them anywhere else.


    What has been confirmed is that they are rice noodles so the search will continue at home. I think that I'll go to the Asian market in Footscray, maybe we will ...
