... over the years but I guess we both expected North American Japanese - this was not the case. It was a case of "cook your own" chicken, beef and pork along with a host of many different vegetables, fish and kimchee.

... hot today – my (very old fashioned) iPhone says ‘a heat index of 40 degrees’ – so we enjoy the cool. (I have worked out why we have brought so many clothes – you need 2 changes a day here in Hong Kong at the moment as you get wringing wet – H). Well I somehow slept again and for 2 hours until the boys woke me up kicking each other and fighting over space and who was encroaching into the others, etc. Just what I wanted to be woken to. Cranky now! But the monitor said only 2 more hours!! The next day we wanted to eat at a lovely Portuguese restaurant called Fernando, south of Coloane. We had a delicious meal which was a trip down memory lane for me, washed down with 2 bottles of Vinho Verde. ... Hong Kong, that feeling was lost. Imagine shopping in Oxford Circus and you understand how I felt. Due to the lack of Christmas items seen so far in mainland China, I made sure I purchased a Christmas jumper ready for Christmas in the event that I fail to buy one here (I'm editing this blog on Christmas Eve and looking back, if I hadn't bought a jumper then I would not have one now).
