MEN! Hur var Phu Quoc? Jo. Det kan sammanfattas sahar: Sol, bad, mat, film, internet och chill. 3 veckor hjarndott solande. Helratt! Det som var riktigt trakigt var att Wille fick en riktigt dalig vecka i slutet av vistelsen. T...
... tried to explain to the hotel staff what contact lens’ were, but couldn’t get it across, despite the elaborate drawings on my notepad. They thought I either had conjunctivitis or needed a pair of tweezers. Not good. Tried the chemist, tried the supermarket in the next town over....................no go. The concept that I have pieces of plastic floating in my eyes was a source of wonder and confusion. It’s my last set of contacts, so my only ...
Saigon, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam elstevoHoly jeysus I have never seen anything like the volume of motos in Vietnam! Not to mention the lack of rules on the road, it's absolutely terrifying and hilarious at the same time how you have to cross a road; you put one foot out and slowly zig zag across hoping they see you from a distance, even the photos don't do justice to the craziness of it all!
The other funny part is the use of the horn here ...
... for me. The originals had been constructed to protect the Cu Chi guerrillas during the war as they were a minority group of Southerners who actually fought with the Northerners against the Americans and for Communism. This led to this particular part of the south being heavily bombed and attacked by the Americans and they’re all too well known B-52’s. We saw bomb craters and tunnels and all sorts of traps used by the Cu Chi’s and then got to ...

... birth defects. American soldiers were also exposed to Agent Orange, but their exposure pales in comparison to the Vietnamese. The pictures speak for themselves.
The museum was emotionally taxing but I was really glad I went. The next stop was the Reunification Palace. As the name implies, this was built after the reunification of South and North Vietnam. It was cool to see but all the tours were in Vietnamese and I think one was in Russian so I didn’t ...
Woke up early this morning to catch my bus to Vietnam... a bus was my only way out. My original plan was to take a boat down the Mekong into Vietnam and was terribly disappointed to find out that the boats do not leave until they are full. It was Friday and I was told that the next boat may leave on Sunday from Phnom Penh (6 hrs from Siem Reap). My next option was to fly. I tried to get a flight... nothing available to ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam mdh... I was glad I knew what I wanted to buy and got out as soon as I could.
We also walked past Reunification Palace, an unremarkable 60s building, apart from the fact that it was the site where Ho Chi Minh’s Communist tanks broke in and Saigon surrendered. This was near the War Remnants Museum, a fascinating but harrowing exhibition of photos from the war, mostly taken by photo journalists who died while there. Some of the photos ...
... ended up spending the night in Nairobi (nice hotel I was business class so no stress) and then having to be interred at the Thai transit hotel in Bangkok. But I would not be “Just Wadz” without the drama right. It’s because I’ve declared this year to be my “No Drama” year that these things are happening - these things are sent to try us but I am " Just Wadz". Anyway people I must love and leave you. It ...
