We stopped and stood in the intense heat and watched some shopkeepers gathered around a pot of boiling rice, that was placed underneath a simple three legged wigwam structure made from sugar cane. ... It's normally not a wise thing to do, leaving booking a flight until the day before. The choice is generally less and the cost is generally more, but we had no option.
