... seem to be light on as far as occupancy levels go. The central eating area has been very busy but that is because the locals choose to eat there. OK I'll come clean. I completely screwed up today. In a way it wasn't a train smash but I did feel a bit stupid. The day kicked off in great style. I had my longed for banana roti at a spit and sawdust Muslim restaurant in Hat Yai. We taxied to the bus terminal. HUNDREDS of mini buses were leaving for all points in Thailand and the Malaysian peninsular. Somehow I recalled that the border town en route to Penang was Songai Kolok so I stepped up to the ticket ...
