With saddened hearts we boarded a bus to leave the pleasantly cool Cameron Highlands, and make our way back to sea level, and the city of Georgetown, on Penang Island. While part of us didn't want to leave the cool temperatures, Penang is known as the food capital of Malaysia, which sounded like an opportunity not to be passed up.

Luckily it was contained and extinguished without any casualties to anything but some gaudy tourist garb. We took the fire as an omen to move on and preserve our memories of paradise without tainting them with mediocrity (sorry Langkawi, we hardly knew ye). Our Thailand adventure started with a wang and ended in paradise. Our Malaysia sojourn is off to a bang; hopefully we find paradise again along the ...

... was here where we realised there was a time difference. What my mummy said was right. Malaysia is one hour ahead of Thailand, thus we would be 8 hours ahead of UK time. We hopped on another bus and off we were to the border.

Being pros at border crossing, we thought this time it would be plain sailing. Oh how wrong we were! The mini van parked up and we all walked to immigration to be greeted by a massive swarm of people queuing ...
