... were not real mooncakes. He was the person who bought them and was as excited about the cakes as he was about the box. After we sipped our drinks and discussed mooncakes we headed home. I typed this up despite feeling ready to call it a night because it has been a packed couple of days. I knew if I didn’t get this one off I might forget some details or write an entry that was too long.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I have plans but you will need to wait for a new post to hear about the weekend.

... Buddha, half way up a lady asked Des if he maybe had a lighter, of course he did. As a thank you she gave us incense sticks (wierook stokjes) we had to lighten them, take 3 bows towards the Buddha and then make a wish, super sweet! Up on top there were 6 other statues of different Gods, all to honour the big Buddha in the middle. We had a walk round, had a look inside the statue, took some pictures and then walked back down again. Right across from the Buddha there ...

... the fish you buy for dinner is fresh - it is still flapping around on the counters, or small tanks/buckets, or ground - all just along the street.
Just nearby is also a section of the road closed off for the protestors. Not much happening in there though.
Lunch time, and we find a nice Micheling star restaurant, known for its dumplings - and no more expensive ...

... We ate lunch there while enjoying the view of the bay. The waitstaff was attentive, the food was delicious (I had the beef stroganoff while my friends had the fish and chips), and they have an adequate drinks menu with some tasty wines on it. I'd give it a 3.5 on my scale. I definitely plan to eat there again when I return. The hiking paths are well worth the effort. Bring water and sunscreen or an umbrella, some ares are rather exposed.
