Dalian is a coastal city which is a popular holiday resort. Because it was Chinese New Year, lots of people were about and there was a party atmosphere. We had a welcome party of dancers on the quayside and in People's Square kids were flying kites. We had an overview of the city from Green Hill viewing platform and drove all the way round Xinghai Square which is the largest in Asia, larger even than Tiananmen ...

Auckland's 1.4 million is a third of NZ's population. The density of high rise buildings is staggering. We arrived at our hotel ...

It was our second morning at the hotel and the warm milk, noddles and rice would not normally be our first choice. Apparently when arriving on the ferry they got to see China's first aircraft carrier in the port. The location of the Dalian port is meant to be strategic and due to its proximity to Korea and access to the Pacific. A tour bus took the group for a 1/2 day ...

Today some people go home and send their cars back to the port to ship the vehicles back. One car goes to Singapore and two other cars are shipped to Port Klang in Malaysia. And the rest of the team will have half a day for sightseeing and free program. In the afternoon we visit a massage place and head to the food street for dinner to enjoy fried rice in a ...
