Christmas in China!
... in the big Auditorium that's part of the highschool the stage had really nice lighting, some christmas decorations and a big banner.
Now, I thought the Junior high christmas concert was pretty well done. But then, afgerwards, I went to see what was going on for the highschool christmas concert... and OMG it was incredible. There was a runway and stage in the gym, with stage lighting, giant screens with digital effects, and multiple cameramen ...

... Dollars and it's not that bad. 300 RMB sounds like a lot of money here, but it's $50 in Canada. You could easily spend that much on an average pair of jeans. But you have to be careful. You can't make a budget in RMB and spend in CAD. Really, we're paying for that western mall experience. And it was nice to go to starbucks and try things on in fitting rooms, but when everything thing you see costs more than an average chinese worker's salary, it's troubling.

Trip to Dalian
... bliche Frage „Woher? Russland?“ ausblieb. Sehr sympathisch, der Mensch. Am Bahnhof habe ich nach einem Blick auf die Uhr (noch eine gute halbe Stunde) erst einmal die obligatorischen Lädchen nach dem bestmöglichen Proviant durchforstet und mich dann mit chinesischen Würstchen, Teeeiern, Keksen und Rosinenbrot eingedeckt. Oreo-Kekse und Wasser hatte ich schon. Außerdem sollte die Fahrt ja nur ca. 2 Stunden ...
