... students have to choose what general field they will go into--after middle school. They're 14 when they choose what they want to be involved in for their whole life. Once they make that choice, they have an exact, precise course they have to take until they graduate college (if they go in China). In contrast, I chose my major, Political Science, when I was going into my junior year in college. Pretty big difference, I'd say.

... we first got in the tram there were some grumbles that the seats were facing uphill and were not reversible (like in the trams at Blackpool!) but as soon as the tram began it’s very steep decent it began obvious why the seats did not face downhill. Everyone would have soon fallen forwards and out of their seats!

Off to the harbour shore for the light show guys we have tried to catch this on photo and video but if you can read this you can search for it on YouTube where you will see the show way better than anything we could do. So off for a potter along the harbour where we see some of what people get up to on Hong Kong Island after dark. Watch the videos I don't want to spoil it. ... asthma attack, the only other time was the first day in Beijing before the smog was cleared away by strong winds. The Peak has changed drastically since Jack was there in 1980. New fancy shopping area with stores and restaurants. We had a coffee and had a great view, before going to the viewing platform and taking a stroll along some of the pathways. Very pleasant.
