... was an interesting drive as it was the first time I had left the city's boundaries by car. I also brought along a friend, Darryl, he is from NL, so we have become good friends, naturally! The landscape outside of ZZ is flat, with few green fields, sparse forests, a few small villages, and lots of power infrastructure. Every few km, there would be another giant tower placed on its unsuspecting natural landscape. They seemed like foreign ...

The train ride took ...

We had some sort of fried bread which looked like a doughnut and was pretty good. It was a very windy day in China, a breeze is a rarity so it was a nice surprise. We had our last two meetings which we talked more about safety at camp and the social dynamics of camp. I didn't get to sit throughout the full social session because one ...

... soup as well as these white buns which have become a staple in my diet. Our session after lunch was relatively short and covered the topics of sponsorship for the campers (each camper is now fully sponsored) as well as advocacy for the children after camp. Around 200 of the campers this year will be paper ready for adoption and I can't wait to be able to help find some of my own campers families after I get ...
