      ... br> Well after popping to see him he gave us an offer we couldn't refuse, to go with this our friend Helen recommended her friend who was looking for a short term rental. So the universe worked in our favour and we rented out our house which helped offset the trip.

      ... than any of the other Greek destinations visited, with few very words not using the Greek alphabet. Grabbing an ocean front cafe, we consumed another delicious Greek salad and a couple of Mythos (beer). We posted the travel blog, but their internet connection did not have enough bandwidth to publish it, so we will need to wait to Istanbul to publish.

      ... village of Makrynitsa which
      was a 40 minute climbing mountain drive. It was very pretty and
      quaint with wonderful huge plane and chestnut trees but the view of
      Volos Bay was patchy through the mist and clouds which cleared a bit
      later in the day after we left. In spite of the weather, it was an
      awesome view of the bay. The economy here can't be suffering too
      much as the city had plenty of fancy shops and ...

      ... sandwiches. We then continued down the street and stopped at another restaurant. Here we used the internet for hours and had beers and stuffed peppers. I have to say these peppers were some of the best I have ever had in my life, and the only reason anyone would ever want to come to Volos. We headed back to the ship late afternoon and watched tv and read, before heading to dinner. We went to bed early since we have another early and packed day tomorrow.

      ... We climbed quite steeply up a windy road with hairpin bends, to our first stop, the village of Makrinitsa 4700 feet above sea level on the side of Mt Pelion. In the village square is a plane tree which dominates the Taverna (Tabepna Greek spelling) and is around 500 years old.We sat and had coffee and local cake which was complementary, then a walk around the village and viewed a nice little church which would hold about 20 people.
