... visiting the towns, 3-4 hour train rides (with transfers) from Torino to Venice, water taxis (aka: boats) around Venice, 1.5 hour boat ride from Venice to airport. Needless to say, it was a whirlwind tour, and we traveled a LOT, but it was all worth it and I can’t believe how much we packed in to this trip. A lot of great memories.

I did a trial run this weekend for packing and it turns out these hiking bags are not very big. I know what you're thinking: "Of course, Meg. That's why everyone looked at you like you were crazy when you said you were only packing one hiking backpack."

Okay, so my spatial reasoning leaves much to be desired. BUT - I'm glad I did a trial run, because I realized a few things that were entirely unnecessary.

... I will travel by train to NYC to stay with Ruth for a day before the flight to Copenhagen. We hope to get a little site seeing in while in NY and take in a good Williamsburg restaurant.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that the pending strikes in Iceland will not impact our travels. Of course we are traveling though Iceland on IcelandAir. It's not worth stressing about. We'll ...
