... was it raining steadily, but it had been raining steadily for nearly 24 hours, and, they said (quite plausibly), the trails would be very slippery. Not the best conditions for rank beginners. We asked about tomorrow, but they said the forecast was for more of the same, and then they offered a raincheck good for six months, at which point, we agreed, with some relief. The downside is that we have to come all the way back here (about 4 1/2 hour drive) ...

... up after dinner. I'm on a streak--19 straight days finding a cache. I'm hoping to extend that to the last day of summer, so an easy and early West Virginia find is quite helpful.

We got to camp and pitched our tents. Lee made some fabulous maccoroni that we put on top of our hot dogs, ...

... min hike to the crag but it was like walking through a rain forest. There was rhododendron trees and a little man made ladder on the side of a mini waterfall you had to cross to continue down. It was beautiful. When we got there I sat around and watched for awhile, I was definitely not on the same level as these crazies, but everything I did try, I enjoyed. Both Jeremy's were super strong Climbers and the other ...

... We just stayed where we were and got even more prepared for the storm that we knew was coming. The thing we saw that made us go to our tents was a bolt of lightning that shot over the camp not too far away. Griffin (my tent partner) & I headed for our tent. We listened to music as the storm passed through. When the storm stopped, we blasted music out of our tent. The songs we played were Any Way You Want It, Gangnam Style, Friday, Hey ...
