Ideal for recovering from a long flight

    Reviewed May 2, 2013
by (1 review) Melbourne , Australia Flag of Australia

We had a suite on the 7th floor with a (reasonably comfortable) king-sized bed in the bedroom, a small kitchen (which we didn't use), a small bathroom (which we did use) and a smallish, but comfortable lounge room.

There were 42" TVs in the bedroom and lounge with a good range of channels. Internet access was good (both cable and Wi-Fi).

The location, in the middle of the Blue Lagoon, was picturesque, but the proximity to the airport meant the was some aeroplane noise, but not enough to cause us any concern.

Free parking was good, but it was outside and it was raining when we checked-in.

The only other negatives were the hair-dryer didn't work and one of the power outlets didn't work either.

The breakfasts were good and the evening meal (Mon to Thu only) were adequate.

Especially given the price, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. It is ideal for recovering from a long flight.

Excellent hotel -- Rivals Service in 5 star hotels

    from

The cleanliness and service at this hotel are the among the best that I have seen in all my travels (including much more expensive hotels). Staff were eager and quick to please. If the van was there, you were wisked to the airport; otherwise, it was just a short wait until the driver returned. Breakfast buffet was always kept full. We needed a repair in the room -- the staff was there instantly. The rooms, laundry area, lobby, etc. were kept spotless. Wonderful outdoor area on the lagoon to feed the turtles, fish or just enjoy breakfast or an evening glass of wine. Highly recommended.

Great Suite Hotel. Home away from Home

    from

My husband stay in this hotel for 6 months and I stayed here for a month during our relo to Miami. The room is very nice and highly functional (dishwasher, microwave, full sized fridge, eating area. living room and separate bedroom and bath).

The hotel is clean and the staff are very professional and helpful. There is a free hot breakfast in the mornings and on weekday evenings they provide light snacks.

From our balcony on the lagoon side I could watch turtles and fish in the lagoon. Hotel was quiet despite being right near the airport. Pets are allowed and we had our dog there.

If you have a car, there is free parking on either side of the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located the Dolphin and Palmetto highways or you can take local roads (my preference).

We experienced consistently excellent service at this hotel. I can't say enough good things about it.

You can never go wrong with Homewood Suites

    from

While fleeing Hurricane Dennis, we stayed in Miami at the Homewood Suites for two nights. We had a great stay. As with any Homewood Suites I have ever stayed in, the rooms were clean, up-to-date, and easily accessible. The lobby had an awesome fish tank. The breakfast area was nice too. The FREE breakfast consisted of biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, dry cereal, oatmeal, waffles, toast, danishes, muffins, fruit, juices, coffee and milk. We didn't get to take part in this, but on Monday through Thursday, they offer a free light evening meal that they call the manager's reception. I also enjoyed the fitness room!

I would recommend staying here to anyone needing close access to the airport (they have shuttles).

    Fabulous Deal on a Hotel

    from

Four of us, (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed overnight here on our way to a Caribbean Cruise. This all-suite hotel is First Class, after all it's a Hilton. Listen to this....for $169. (plus some outrageous Florida taxes), you can stay in a two bedroom, two bath suite, with a kitchen and three televisions!

Homewood also provides guests with a fully cooked breakfast and all the muffins you can stuff in your mouth...... or in your bag. Luxury on a budget, nice.

    Nice upscale Homewood

    from

This is an upscale Homewood Suites. It appears to be somewhat of an older property, but has been kept up well. The breakfast is included, and is your typical Homewood breakfast. The managers reception is in the evening and is above average with varied foods and free draft beer/wine.

The hotel is very close to the Miami airport, but there was little to no airport noise which surprised me. The hotel is on a lake and you can see fish and turtles from the dock in the back.

The gym is reasonable for this class of property. From what I recall there were two treadmills, one recumbant exercise bike and a universal type weight machine.

The hotel has a somewhat small parking lot, so at times it can be difficult to find a space, but with everything else considered this is only a small item. I would definitely stay there again.

    Great Suite Hotel

    from

Great Suite Hotel! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite on January 22nd, 2005 before our cruise. The 2 bedroom suite was very clean with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and 2 bedrooms and living room area. Breakfast was excellent. Great for families. We would stay again in a minute.

    What a Great Place!

    from

We stayed here for one night on our way to Antigua. Rooms were great - location (close to the airport) was excellent. Shuttle was fast for pick-ups and drop-offs. Front desk folks were very helpful. The Manager's Party is a great concept but the food left a lot to be desired - as did the quality of the wine. But I would definitely stay there again.

Forget about a fancy name hotel. If you're looking for comfort, this is the place.

    from

I visit Miami about ten times per year on business and always stay at this property. Many of my collegues look for a fancy name (IE.

Intercontinental or Sofitel), but I must say that Homewood is excellent. The staff are friendly and the rooms are absoulutely huge.

Since I usually go for a week at a time, it is nice to have a separate living room, and the kitchen is a plus too. Not that I cook, but it's nice having a fridge to keep soda cold and a microwave for popcorn.

Also, the free high-speed internet connection is fantastic. This is a great property and one that I highly recommend.

A Very CLEAN Hotel...That's what I look for.

    from

This is the place to stay and I will stay again. Large Rooms, Excellent Service, Beautiful Landscaping, and around the clock security. This was an Excellent Choice-can't go wrong here.

    Excellent value

    from

We stayed at the Homewood suites on 2 seperate nights in December 2002.

The 2 bedroom suite was very spacious and well equipped, much more like a 4 star and not the 2 star it is. Breakfasts were substantial and free. The whole place was very new and spotless. Overall excellent value. We are going back in a few weeks!
