A travel blog entry by taylor.burke on Jun 16, 2015

Today the journey began! My mom and I drove to Kansas City in order for me to board my flight early tomorrow morning. It took a while to get going because I kept remembering last minute things, and even when we got to Kansas City we had to make several emergency supply stops because apparently I forgot to pack my brain (my mom was thrilled about this). Well, today is the day for trip number 2 of the summer! I can't believe that I am currently on the plane in transit to Detroit and then to Paris! I've been planning this trip a lot longer than the other trip, so it is pretty exciting to think that it is finally here!

In 2001 they finished cleaning up the site and it now has a 45 acre mound that covers all the old buildings that used to be there. It had an awesome information center and a beautiful view from the top of the mound - though the walk was a little tiring. From there we headed to Kansas City. After checking into our hotel around 4, ...

Museum of Transportation & The American Restaurant

... restaurant. I probably have something about that on my computer at home but, unfortunately, I can't access it, thanks to Comcast. The restaurant is on the upper floor of a building that's pretty much surrounded by Hallmark Cards offices. It turns out, the company had something to do with why the restaurant is here. In the last 1960s the founder of Hallmark Cards and his son built the Crown Center, which includes the building housing ...
