... headed over to their campsite next to us. The conversation went on for hours and so did the campfire, and just when we were running out of wood, another camper came along with more firewood and more wine.. I will continue this entry later, it seems like there will be another campfire this evening..
Jackson, Wyoming, United States skjaerseth... Snake River Brewing Company, and then spent most of our afternoon using the hotel's free wireless to get our lives in order.
The next morning we rushed to pick up some more camping food supplies and secure a campsite at Jenny Lake, the most popular campground at the Park. After setting up camp we walked down to Jenny Lake to read and enjoy the absolutely spectacular view of Grand Teton and Mount Moran. We then drove up to ...
... Hayden Valley with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. We stopped at Canyon Village and took a short walk to look at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Lower Falls, where a large waterfall dropped into a long narrow canyon with white and yellow sulfur sidewalls. Here we also got to experience the huge crowds that people complain about at Yellowstone. After the Falls we went on to the ...

It was a long drive and we stopped at Dillion, Montana for a spot of lunch at the Longhorn Saloon. We started speaking to a man who had just finished his lunch and was loading up his rucksack. Virginia asked him where he was walking too and he said he was walking the Continental Divide Trail. He started in April of this year and anticipates finishing in September on the Canadian/Montana ...
... the history of the National Parks etc. The Grand Prismatic Spring and Excelsior pool are every bit as wonderful as I’d hoped, although it was a bit chilly today so there was some steam obscuring the view. Our afternoon route skirted the beautiful Yellowstone Lake, glittering in the sun with snow-capped mountains on the horizon. We continued our hunt for a grizzly in vain, although we did spend a few minutes looking very hard ...

There is a loop road around the middle of the park so I pretty much drove right around that and stopped along the way whenever there was something to look at.Yellowstone NP is fantastic and has a wide variety of attractions - lakes, waterfalls, geysers and wildlife. I got to see some Buffalo up close and even saw a wolf running along the side of the road. I finished my day in ...
... picture taking pit stops. We had a long 5 hour drive ahead of us to Salt Lake City. Four hours of the drive was on a pitch black, two lane road. We hated for our vacation to be over and wished we could live in this beautiful part of our country. Everyone should see Yellowstone and the Tetons at LEAST once in their life. Get off the beaten path and explore the treasures these two national parks have to offer. This will not be our last trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States becsher... the window behind the altar is world famous. We continue our circuit to the lovely Jenny Lake overlook. This is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the United States , and although the clouds still cover the peaks, it is still a magnificent view. Nearby some boaters are launching a kayak, much too ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States mmbcross... a sore back from driving all the time. When I saw the therapist, I knew it was gonna be good, full sized woman putting her weight into it felt goooood. We had BBQ at Bubba's. Supposedly, Ahrnald and Maria tried to eat there but they were told to wait. When they heard, their reply was that they don't wait for tables. Bubba's reply was, "Then you don't eat at Bubba's." Tomorrow is Salt Lake City. I want to see if I float in the lake or not.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States mwtoh... which was roaring and tall and beautiful in the way that mountain geography is) and turned around and left, pushing our way back through the milling cattle. Now don't get me wrong, I know I'm a tourist as well, but JEEZ-US. A freaking ferry? It's a two mile walk people! Nothings sacred I guess. All in the name of consumerism. Anyways, it almost ruined the day. So on the way back, Mal and I get to discussing the state of ...
