Both D & G were straight into helping Todd put together a 10 x 5 foot outdoor dog kennel (6 foot high). Their dogs (old Bailey, a red golden retriever) , has taken on a new lease of life with the arrival of “Rugby” , an American Bulldog (not pitbull)…Rugby was the largest of the litter and continues to amaze Todd & Talley with his growth rate. Now 5 months old and weighing over 50 LBS….feet ...
... so it's about NZ$1.22 ltr which is quite a help on a long trip! About half NZ prices. Diesel is dearer than petrol but I don't think they have road user charges for mileage.
Most groceries are quite a bit less at Walmart etc. I spotted some lamb 'shoulder spare ribs' which looked like boned out shoulder cut into strips, and was $12 for 2 lbs = NZ$7.26/kg. There is hardly any lamb on offer.
Beef, the main meat offering is about the same price as at home. Cooked chooks ...
... the afternoon, showered and just relaxed. It was just what we all needed.
In the evening the boys went to pick up dinner while Kristin and I went down to the beach to take a walk. We saw so many shells and crabs that we had never seen before. We also got to see the beautiful Florida sunset. It was a nice evening.
We ended the evening by watching the basketball finals and eating some great pizza.
Off to a new place tomorrow....
