... named (hypenated town). Driving past a few more towns, Shirley, Funks Grove (famously make Mapel Sirup (how it is spelt), then McLean and a quick stop in Atlanta, where we saw the second giant of the trio on this trip, The Bunyan Giant, brother to Gemini Giant. Atlanta was a lovely small town, with R66 signs, a park and a few shops dedicated to this famous old road. The kids were tired and wanted to find the nearest ...

Okay it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we got fascinated by ships and locks 40+ years ago when we went to the UK by ship via the Panama Canal.
Then while in the UK we went on a couple of Canal boat holidays and again we had fun entering the locks but they're a lot smaller so one physically opened and shut ...

He reckons they could produce their own electricity and have computers and their own internet that was not connected to the ...

Weathers improving ....slightly...stopped raining but still cold. Forecast for tomorrow into high seventies so that is a definite improvement. Progress is slow at the moment because every time we ask an American a question they just want to talk, and how they can talk!!! Nice though . Visited the war museum and the Route 66 museum at Pontiac, really interesting. The bike really uses lots of fuel, only did 100 miles and needed to refill it, it cost an outstanding $7 ...

Happy birthday to my love and my favorite clown, John! We celebrated after the show with wine, junk food, and four episodes of "Girls". A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)
