Port Jefferson is named after our third president. It's a deep water port that has ferry service to Connecticut. While there, we found a winery shop offering tastings from the Pindara and Duck Walk wineries and a small brewery, Port Jeff Brewery, doing the same. Of course, we're bringing some back with us. Yeehaw! It is a quaint little port town with interesting shops and restaurants. We finished our visit with some coffee, tea and pastries at La Bonne Boulangerie. ...
We figured since we already got ~$17,000 worth of airfare for $127 and ~$12,000 worth of hotels for $0, why not skip the parking fee too? Parking is insanely expensive at JFK for 15 days so Mike rented a car one way using rental credits so we could avoid the parking fee entirely! Total cost to us was $1 plus gas and tolls. We'll repeat the process for the return trip.
