... along the Hudson - the cruise went down along the West side of Manhattan and then up along the East side before turning back. We had good views of the Statue of Liberty, New Jersey, Manhattan and Brooklyn along the way and chilled out taking it in and snapping some photos. As a final treat for the day (like we needed it!) we picked up some desert from the iconic Magnolia Bakery near our apartment. ... the slip next to us was occupied by a boat from Kemah, Texas. It's a small world indeed! They are traveling North from Texas.

... stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass and was hoped to sound a bit stupid so people wouldn't move in (to keep prices low?). ... Project put it all together, and the fine one-to-a-part singers and outstanding instrumentalists acquitted themselves very well, with great French style! It really was excellent music making, though the plainchant with French ornamentation didn't flow as successfully. The following evening we travelled to the Upper East Side to St Jean Baptiste, an incredibly grand church on a massive scale, to see the same (and more) singers and instrumentalists perform Monteverdi's ...
... styled mural on its high domed roof. Just like the Chrysler building foyer, there were lots of people going about their daily lives, obvious to the beauty that surrounded them - but then the same of course can be said for us.
I visited Bloomingdales which was quite pricey - well far too pricey for me but lots of lovely things to look at, then had to make the dash back to the lower East Side for my 4pm Tenement museum ...
