... for a while, another told me how this Texan musician couldn't get someone to publish his music in the US, but Australia did. I then got asked to say something, anything so they could hear my accent. I obliged and then joined in with part of Eric Vogals song 'And the band played Waltzing Matilda'. Next they sang me 'the man in the big hat' a Texan cowboy song. Kelley gave me his card and told me if I was ever over this way again to look him up. A grand time was had ...

The locals say it's warm, but for a girl of the tropics I have my ever present cardigan on! Denton (or as it's promoted online - 'little d') is a university town; or I should say a 2 universities town about the same size as Townsville. Our next stop was to relive November 22, 1963. The sixth floor of the Book Depository building at Dealey Plaza was full of ...

... control things that I cannot control, and anxiously worry if it's not perfect. As I rode today, with several imperfect worries in my head, and building anxiety in my chest, I had to hit reset. I have to continually remind myself to embrace the imperfections of life, and roll with what's presented to me. No matter what happens, I have to trust myself and not overthink it. Because in the end, those imperfections are what makes life an ...

    Long flight, but excited!

A travel blog entry by kdmarks on Jul 25, 2012

We're really excited today. We've planned this trip since last December. We wanted to do something very special for our 25th anniversary and Aileen found this trip on Groupon. It looks good, we've researched it thoroughly so now I guess we'll found out if we made a good decision.

The flight to Seoul, Korea is direct from DFW and 14 hours long and it's in coach (ouch). However, we have more leg room than domestic flights. Each seat also has it's own TV/DVR for viewing. We ...
