Had breakfast in the hotel and when we left it seemed a lot warmer this morning. We decided to follow the guide book and go to Hot Springs but as soon as we left it absolutely poured, you could hardly see the cars in front - amazingly some didn't even have their lights on but once it stopped the ride was nice into Hot Springs. Apparently it had been a favourite resort of gangsters back in the 30s before they moved on ...

Wind farms lined the sides of interstate 40 through this prairie land. We breezed through Oklohoma City and towns with names like Onapa and Wewoka, and the reservations of Indian nations that I have never heard of, heading for the Arkansas line. Finally we reached some pretty grassland around Shawnee, Oklohoma. The highway ...

A good trip, a safe trip, valuable teaching and classes presented and hopefully more encouragement given to the ministry and membership of the Church in Ghana. ... Now this is certainly not a name I expected to see around THESE parts, so I photographed it and put it up on my Facebook. Within minutes, 2 of my knowledgeable Mississippi network members (and later, a 3rd) educated me (and the rest of my network) that apparently there was a fair population of Jewish settlers to the MS and AR Delta region in the 1800s...little did I ...

... I haven't been there in several years, so am looking forward to seeing those brethren again. And the Hawkins' are delightful folks, very enjoyable to spend time with.

So, the next journey has begun. And with no storms rolling through the area right now, It appears we'll be able to avoid the delays and problems of previous trips - always a good thing!
