... I was wrong. We were almost
completely full! When I book tickets I always ask for the aisle seat, and it
turned out to be a very good thing this time!

I was seated and waiting as other passengers boarded. I noticed one fellow coming down the aisle who literally filled the aisle! He was a very big fellow, and could not even stand up straight because the ceiling wasn't high enough. I was starting to feel sorry for him when ...

Told her Happy Birthday! She is 31 years old - on July 2nd. :-) (last year we celebrated in NY together - tonight - in Thailand)

In the afternoon I was able to get a little more work done before packing up for the trip ...

As I 've mentioned before, boarding a flights from Ghana is often done in mass - when the boarding calls begin, it doesn't matter your seat row, flight status or anything else, the crowd just surges forward. Unfortunately, even if you have a seat, should you be at the rear of the pack it is likely there will be no more room in the overhead lockers for your carry-on luggage. So I always try to position myself toward the front of the departure ...

... off. That is all apparently scheduled pretty tightly in an airport this large and busy, and if you miss your take-off time it’s like missing an appointment with the dentist – it might be awhile before you can get in again. But he expected we’d be underway in 5 minutes or so.

Finally, exactly two hours after we were to have left, we taxied out and took off with a rumble and shuddered into the sky. I’m not ...
