... Boston Common was pretty impressive and the city streets were filled with Irish and British pubs. We walked around for a couple of hours before finally settling in an old-fashioned Boston pub and watched a baseball game over beers and burgers.

On Tuesday, we made the drive north towards the most north-eastern state, Maine. We got a bite of a thrill seeing signs to look out for moose and not to hit them ...

We left Medina without visiting the Railroad Museum. We would have liked to do that but forgot to check the guide book yesterday and today it didn't open until 11:00. We didn't want to wait that long because we want to get to Tonawanda or Buffalo in order to get staged for crossing Lake Erie. We would like to be in Erie, Pennsylvania by Sunday to visit Camille's cousin, Lynda.

... and the staff have been great - even before we got here, they were helping us out when I wasn't going to be here on time.

I think we should probably now find food (because now that I've arrived I'm no longer quite so anxious and so I could probably be hungry), if we can (it's nearly 10pm), and then sleep. A lot. Because I have had two very, very long ...

... being asked, which is lovely, but somebody of my height challenge can't see the corners of the car while driving down the wrong side of the road, so it's all a bit exciting at times.

Finally made the motel using Samantha - our friendly GPS voice. We're staying at the hotel where the wedding and reception is taking place, and a lovely bag of welcoming goodies was waiting for us, courtesy of Lynne. Made contact with Brendan, who was actually shopping at the mall next ...
