I am paying the price today of the train ride to Denver---Islept maybe a total of 3 hours. Arrived in Denver at 7AM. Barely light out. Fortunately the hotel was just across the street from Union Station. I appeared on their doorstep luggage in tow, and they took pity on me and gave me a room. Vi packade ihop våra viktigaste ägodelar i 23 flyttkartonger. Det var precis vad som rymdes i vagnen bakom de två starka hästar som skulle dra oss västerut, till Denver, Colorado, USA. Vi planerade en resa på två år, hela familjen, Ola, Elin, Märta, Sigge & Rut, och lämnade Saltsjöbaden och Sverige, familj och vänner med blandade känslor en dag när sommaren gick över till att bli höst.

So, now that I've meta-mused on my travels for a bit and settled on what is to come of me after them, I shall return this blog to it's former glory as "repository of the occasionally debaucherous tales of Daniel's travels". Next up: New Orleans - breaking in to jazz festivals, gospel church services (and being the only white guy in them), car rides with chain-smoking creepy ex-carnies, fried chicken, and more.

... determined kid, and coupling that with reasonably frequent stops (every 10-15 miles or so) and coupling that with being able to take 10 or 12 hours if we need to, and we should be fine. Our rolling speed in our training rides has been between 13 and 15 miles an hour which will get us across Iowa I'm sure. I'll hopefully be posting pics and updating as we go, so keep checking back!
