Day 2 began with a fabulous breakfast at the inn with a choice between an egg souffle or lemon waffles, a walk and then off to the wineries. We found warmth and dryness inside and stayed for two and a half hours reading and typing. <br>- Once the rain stopped, we realized that we were hungry. No wonder! ... Mahogany Grill for our evening meal and once again experienced great food! A street harpist played next to us providing a wonderful concert of Pachebel and other choices. On the walk home we got caught in a downpour and ducked into the Moosewood restaurant and gift shop known for the Moosewood cookbooks. <br> <br> A good night's sleep and we were ready for Day 2.<br> <br><br><br>

I knew before beginning the trip that I wanted to offset my emissions which would be pretty substantial because of the nearly 25,000 miles I'd be flying. And when I returned home I was pleasantly surprised to see how my ecologically minded gentle prodding had begun to take effect on my family. They had put in a solar system on top of our boat house which would end up creating a surplus of energy for our house over the summer ...

I'm taking Amtrak to New Haven tomorrow and really looking forward to the trip: get a little reading done, get some photo's uploaded to facebook, return a few emails... I have an article to write for the December issue of The Advisor. I've been procrastinating writing it, so hopefully I will be inspired tomorrow.
