We decided to get out for some fresh air so started walking up the road to find a store for some water, passed elvis's planes and then spotted the gates of Graceland on the other side of the street, the place was lit up like a Xmas tree :( coloured lights at the bottom of the trees etc, in my opinion it looked really tacky :( guess I'll have to see what it's like during the day ...

          ... bars up and down the street still going strong.

          Then there is Gracelands. Expected a huge mansion but that didn't take away from the moving Gracelands tour they provide. Gives real insight to Elvis's life and made us followup more after the visit. Amazing man in many ways.

          ... the museum we stopped briefly on Beale Street, home of the blues in Memphis and also home to great BBQ. I got take out for that nights supper from Blues City Cafe, a joint I had eaten in the last time I was in the city.

          ... just across the river in Arkansas) in the 40's and 50's, clubs opened a lot later than inMemphis, and they encouraged all races to mix and share music and dance. Encouraged by this several musicians collaborated to write songs from their own backgrounds, hence Soul.

          Museum is fascinating and I could've spent a day in here easily. Lots more inspiring and interesting stories in this place.
