... it's 4 hours of driving and 6 hours of hiking (on a muddy jungle road) to reach our first reserve. Despite my current and impending weariness I am quite ecstatic. I can't wait to breathe the Ecuadorian air once again, be it thin and hard to do so from the high elevation of Quito, or muggy and thick in the depths of the jungle at Mâché Chindul and the Bilsa Biological Station.
