It wasn't so great to have to say
goodbye though. Unfortunately we had to so after a lunch of leftovers
(like all good holiday celebrations there was too much food) we
hugged a few more times goodbye and headed out to Canada.

After leaving Niagara i headed to London... just because!! then followed the roads up the coastal roads following the Lakes. Past Lake Erie, Lake Huron and Georgian Bay to the Town of Barrie.
Again lovely weather... oh and note self.. just because A Town name has "Beach" in the title doesn't mean it has a nice beach!!
Great couple of days driving.

... shoreline. This close to the water there were still a few last gasps of fall color. We started the morning in Painted Rocks National Lakeshore, with beautiful layered sandstone cliffs lining the lake. It was cold, in the 30s, but there was no wind and the sun was out so it was pretty pleasant. I had a delicious lunch of fresh fish and chips made with local whitefish in Grand Marais and then we headed south and east into the woods.
