    Schönes Homewood

    from

    Bell'albergo

    from

Siamo stati bene allo Homewood. Belle camere, personale gentile, buona colazione. Ci torneremmo.

    We love Homewood Suites

    from

We spent 10 days visiting California from the east coast. Two days up in Anaheim and the remainder in San Diego at the Homewood Suites.

This is a brand new hotel, but still a typical Homewood. Having four kids makes hotel stays a bit challanging, but not at Homewood Suites. We get the two bedroom suites...one for Mom and Dad, two kids in the other room and two on the pull-out sofa. The kids were loving the THREE flat screen TV's...not the best selection of channels for the kids, but that is okay...we weren't there to watch TV anyway!

Location is great, but a little tricky to find in the dark even with good directions. You basically pull into a plaza type area and the hotel is tucked in behind it.

The biggest draw for us is breakfast and the light supper (M-Th)they offer. Food was outstanding and was a great way for us to save money.

We had a room with a nice view of the bay...right next to the workout room which was a bit loud at night, but not unbearable. Biggest problem was people turning the TV up loud so they could hear it over the machines and then leaving it on when there were done. Our bedroom wall was also the workout room wall so every night we'd have to pop over and turn off the TV! A minor inconvenience. I was surprised at how little of the planes we heard being it is so close to the airport. We live near the airport at home too so maybe we just didn't notice.

    Un excellent hôtel tout récent!

    from

    Great New Spot to Stay!

    from

Brand new property on a quiet street near the airport. Great suite rooms with large flat screen TV's. Pools, hot tub, basketball, and nice seating area in lobby. Bit of noise from the planes but an excellent choice if you want to be close to the airport. Staff was still a bit green and could probably use a bit of training. Make sure you bring the directions as it is not that easy to find. Free Internet, breakfast, and even dinner during the week.

    Ottimo albergo nuovo dove alloggiare

    from

    Tolles neues Hotel!

    from

This is the best! Try it!

    from

I absolutely LOVED this hotel! I would give it at least 4 and one half points if I could.

We were forced out of our home for one night during the recent San Diego fires (luckily our home was safe). We wanted to get away from the smoke so headed south and west, ending up near the airport.

It was about 11 AM and I spotted what looked like a brand new Homewood Suites hotel, so we just walked in. From the moment we got there, it was pure pleasure. They had a special low rate for 'evacuees', and others were already there. (I had feared we'd run into 'price gouging' but the reverse was true!) Hours before checkin time they sent us to our beautiful -- even elegant -- room. It was perfect for just hanging out and waiting, watching the news on TV all day on flat screen. And dressed as we were it was wonderful to be able to have dinner right there at the hotel. Even when the overflow crowd caused them to run out of the main entree, they quickly made excellent substitutes.

We had a great, quiet night, on the extremely comfortable bed.

Breakfast was very nice, and beyond a continental breakfast. If we had needed a kitchen, this is the one I'd want! Gorgeous!

The staff was fantastic, especially because the hotel was jammed with regular guests AND evacuees ... far more people than they had prepared for. Their kindness and flexibility for our special needs was exceptional. Some of them also had homes in the path of the fires, and knew our worries, and had their own.

I would encourage anyone coming to this area to stay there ... a great family hotel, (we are retired) a terrific ... quiet ... location, near the heart of everything in San Diego. And the caring, compassionate staff is admirable.

    Loved the new Homewood!

    from

My husband and I booked this hotel for our family trip this week. (I'm writing this as I'm staying in the hotel!!) We are here with my husband on his business trip. We came early to take in the local amusement parks/zoos/museums. On Tuesday, we knew we would have to leave to go to the hotel where his conference is being held. (Another post...see Island Palms Best Western) We enjoyed the Homewood so much that we really didn't want to leave however, logistically, it would be easier for my husband to be in the same hotel as his conference. After one night at the Best Western, I loaded the family up and moved us back to the Homewood while he was at his meeting. (With his blessing, of course! ;) My kids were so excited to be back at our roomy hotel suite with the yummy breakfast. AND IT WAS CHEAPER! We love this hotel.

PROS: The staff is super nice...even when you lock yourself out of your room...TWICE! :) The hotel is brand new and the rooms are so spacious. The room we had first overlooked a canal. Very pretty. The second room we got had a tiny balcony and was next to the outdoor terrace (3rd floor). The suite we were in had two flat screen tv's and a full kitchen. There was plenty of room without us walking all over each other. The food is good. There is a breakfast and a hospitality hour (food and free drinks). The hospitality hour is only on week nights. There are two outdoor gas fireplaces, tons of outdoor seating, and a heated pool/hot tub. There's also a basketball court. The surrounding area has a good pizza joint, a subway, a tcby, and a starbucks...within walking distance. Just a short drive and you are on Rosecrans where you can find any fast food you want. This hotel is close to the airport, USS Midway, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Bay area.

CONS: Can't think of any except that my 7 and 9 year old boys were bummed that there was no Nick or Disney channel. They watched Discovery Channel and Animal Planet when we were in the room (not much), and I liked that just fine!

I snuck up there and as we pulled out of Skagway, I had my rain coat protecting me from the pouring rain, turtle neck, gloves and headphones plugged in to Enya playing “Return to yourself”. We sailed along the strait with the snowcapped mountains putting on a display of Mother Nature beauty a passenger would never get to experience. With the wind, cold and rain pouring down on me, ...

This presented the perfect transition for the hypnotist to introduce the “adult only show” occurring next week. No joke, nearly half the audience got up at that moment and flooded to the back where they special reserved their tickets. Trust me, I considered canceling our reunion trip to Tennessee to go to the show as well; but somehow I don’t think I ...

We were en route from Death Valley to Joshua Tree National Park with about an hour and a half to go when my abdominal pains started to get much worse. We stopped for groceries in a small town out in the desert, and my stomach began shaping itself in strange and painful ways. When my belly button essentially sucked itself into my abdomen I decided that was the final sign that it was time to head to San Diego. I was so bummed to have to alter the plans on the trip, ...

Confirmation that our battery really had given up the ghost. I mustered all my man skills and installed the new battery. We were back in business but i wonder for how long?
