Today we went to a ski field called snowbird and we stayed on the mountain for two nights. The next day we went skiing there had been a storm yesterday so we were skiing in knee deep (waist for Jessie), hooray. Jessie loved the powder so much we called her a powder pig. The funny thing was at the end of the day. We discovered our favourite run was a green.

The next day we went skiing again and we still managed to find powder in a run we like to call ...

Day 9 - Salt Lake City Sightseeing

... the same lady. At that stage it was getting rather cold so we headed home, picked up dinner for Val who was working, then went to El Matador for a yummy mexican dinner. We went for a drive up to a lookout area to see the lights of the city at night - breathtaking - called in to see Natalie, Lynette and Bentley then home for the night. I got to chat with Lara, Lynne and Jack via skype or facetime, and we called Riley and Hunter :-) bedtime was around 2am, not well ...

    The things I missed

    ... before I got there.

  • Jewel Cave: I will snag this one when I take my kiddo to Mount Rushmore someday.
  • The RCMP Heritage Centre: This one was a big bummer. But, stuff happens. And the lemonade from those lemons was incredible.
  • Canadian Museum for Human Rights: For this museum, you need to have a ticket to a tour at a set time. Those times just didn't fit the schedule.
  • The Fargo ...

... how to make sleeping in a bus work. Yay me.
On our way to Salt Lake, we also crossed the border into Idaho; even if it was only for a little bit, I can still tick it off the list of states I've visited on this trip. The tour guide then put on some documentaries about the south and natural plains on the TV, because we had that much time still to go before we got to our hotel. We did eventually make it to Salt Lake City, and stopped at a Chinese/Western buffet just around ...

... br> We had a cup of coffee and had a chance to talk about Ketchikan and his new place here in Boise. He has a nice small house with a bedroom just for his computer stuff. Pat was one of the more tech savvy guys at work so he has plenty of computer equipment and is a pretty serious gamer. He moved down here and now lives right across from a nice long trail, which he and his son walk pretty regularly. This guy is definitely enjoying his retirement!
