We are winding up our trip to Dallas and have spent the time with Simon and his family. Today was a trip to a State Park about 1 hour's drive north of Coppell. Whilst most of the drive was along freeways we passed through farming country with horse ranches and cattle before entering the park. Ray Roberts Lake State Park has a 29000 acre reservoir supporting many water activities. The weather was nice and sunny but the wind kept it cool - about 16. Like the hotel the service is a bit phony. My waiter came up and introduced himself and I ordered a beer. While he was gone another waiter came up and did the same 'friendly' introduction. When I told him I had already been served the brick like noise of him dropping me was almost audible.

Got up at 6.30am, dressed, packed bags, went to
breakfast – one of the best of the trip to date. Just a lot of stuff
on offer. The after breakfast it was back to the room where i got
ready for the day, finished packing, took my bags to the coach and
the room keys to reception.
