... He dropped me off at home, and headed back to Houston to his apartment. Back at my house, Lucy and I finished organizing my sewing and knitting tub of projects; second review of clothes (trying to have something for all the temperatures). Finally off to bed. Gotta get Maggie and James Mowad in the morning; then off to Camping World to finally pick up my Denali RV!! I feel like a kid in Christmas ...

... who visit all the monuments, museums and statues in a three county area that relate to early Texan History. Bill forgot to mention all the historical markers when we can find them [and road] for us to stop and read (car only).

We drove through the Sam Houston National Forest, a very mature pine forest via small narrow paved roads that provide a rewarding scenic ride, but sadly, no wildlife was to be seen. Where are all ...

... them as they now have the casino where many of them are working. I was very interesting true story as his wife was from this part of the country. I am very thankful for being on the ft bus as the second bus had a little trouble but everything is fine with them now. I will say so long for now and head down for breakfast. Today we say goodbye to New Braunfels, Texas. We have really enjoyed the Hill country so it is with mixed feelings that we leave. We were able to spend quite a bit of time with family and friends and we saw sights in the area. It was a very quiet campground and a pretty area. So we moved on with mixed feelings.

We decided we would take Texas "Farm to Market" roads to the new campground ...

... we will try to get a spot further back in the loop where the sites were more level. Thankfully I'd been practicing backing the camper up with our new tow vehicle (2012 Ford F150 V6). Previously, I would just get "close enough" and then unhitch and push the camper where I wanted it. That would not have worked on this steep site, there was no way we could have pushed it up the hill. But I did great backing it in. The truck has an "ap" ...
