We awoke early this morning so we got up and got on the road by 6:45 am. We left under cloudy skies with a drizzly rain that turned heavy off and on for the first three hours. In an attempt to avoid as many tolls as possible, we traveled out I-70 to I-68 into West Virginia passing Sideling Hill and Cheat Lake along the way.

Since it was getting late and I wanted to hit the road, we decided to save the statue for my next visit. We went back to the hotel, checked out, said goodbye, and off I went. I had one pit stop on my way to Roya's in Columbus. I stopped in Nashville to give Adam back the pants that made ...

... way through. Upon arrival at Dallas the weather was no surprise, it was just as I'd left it: hot, steamy and stormy. After a couple of hours my next flight left for Columbus, by this stage due to a lack of sleep I couldn't even stay awake for take-off. This highlighted that there was no way I could have driven straight to Athens that night, so I was glad Donelle had booked an airport hotel for that ...
