I'm getting ready for this trip that will happen in about a month. I got a new canon camera which is a RebelT1i degital 15 pix with two lenes. They sure put me back a good many dollors.
I just hope I'm able to take great pictures. I'm making two dresses to ware and will take very
few clothes. I ...
... any pictures as evidence, though, do you. No no, we were incognito cute.
Here's a tip for anyone coming to Phoenix: get signed up on the Internet for Groupon and get email alerts for special deals in the valley. We saved a bunch of money by getting half price tickets for tonight. It works like this, you have 24 hours to purchase and if they get enough buyers the deals on, if not, you're not charged. So you either buy or ignore with a new deal coming out every day.
... s a great way to get the people who use the place to help pay for it, but it's certainly a cumbersome procedure. We're going to backtrack down the mountain to buy a pass for a parking lot we're in NOW?
I don't think so.
There are no drop boxes here like there are in campgrounds in Montana. Maybe they have more danger of vandalism and theft, I don't know the reason, but the system is screwy.
Saguaro lake is about an hour and a half from us at Sun Lakes, but only ...
... for most of this information is from the Bradt Guide for Ethiopia, with Carole's added commentary of the Ark of the Covenant. It is fascinating to me and such a great adventure story if it could ever be proven. Good read on the subject is The Sign & The Seal, Graham Hancock. Many believe his research presents a very compelling case for it being there while others think it is hogwash. Personally, I think they are just jealous! :)
... a poor salmon swimming upstream – an extremely bulky salmon who couldn't see too well because of the piled high trolly – trying to collect a few other goodies, but just amazing how quickly the specials were stripped off the shelf. Spent ages in a line to the checkout, so didn't actually get to leave Walmart to the sun was rising at 6.30! After a couple more shops we staggered home at about 8am.
Hopefully today we'll get a Nana-nap in!
Yummy breakfast this morning with the State of Texas shaped waffles – heh heh. Naturally Fred, Josh & I had to sample them!
Hit the road by 9am and drove straight to Wilcox, Arizona where we had a rather disappointing lunch at a local Burger Joint called 'Carters' – cost us $25 for the four of us, and that was 3 small burgers (tiny by U.S size standards), 2 ...
... and to tie up any loose ends. May 16th I will head to Chicago O'Hare for my flight to London where I will try to make a quick visit with some friends (Sula, David, John and Michael I hope you are paying attention) before making my connection to Athens arriving on the 18th. I have no idea what happens next aside from hooking up with some of the connections I have made on the islands and hoping that ...
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States geermx... step was about the height of our roof and very jagged with big holes and no good line to take up it. You know Charlie had to do it, against advice from everyone! One try, no luck, so I walked over to the 'slide' go-around to watch him come up it. Next thing I heard was cheering for him as he topped the Step! I should have known he would not give up in one try! And I missed it! As we left there and angled into a creek bed, he came up against a huge rock-and rolled ...
Apache Junction, Arizona, United States teamcc... Hung around in our PJs till Ken and Joan called to say they were planning to visit. I changed-Charlie didn't, but we did have a good visit. I had cooked a pork loin in the crockpot so it smelled good here all day! Charlie tried to schedule a 2 unit blood transfusion for Monday but looks like it will not be till Thur. He is really running on low! I went to bed at 7:30 - with a terrible headache I have had for 2 days, and did not get up till almost 8 in the morning ...
Apache Junction, Arizona, United States teamcc... Eleuthera Eleuthers/Abacos Abacos/PalmBeachInlet Here are my questions for those of you experienced Bahama cruisers: - If I am leaving in late March, am I better off going directly to the Abacos as the weather should be good by then. I am thinking of going south primarily in search of warmer wx and water. - If I go with the southerly route, do I need to look for a weather window all the way to Nassau? Chubb ...
