Wish us luck as we depart in the evening from Atlanta via Los Angeles continuing on the same aircraft to Sydney, Australia. We know that we will not see a seat in BusinessElite to Los Angeles but we are really keeping our fingers crossed (pray for us!) that we will be able to take advantage of the flat ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States lisabeth.kay... favorite supermarket, and declared that no one else could have the van until I had gone to Publix. I knew my purchases long before I passed through those clean gilded automatic doors. I made a beeline for the bakery and found a package of the delicious sugar cookies that I love. I only get them about once a year, when my mom is wonderful enough to bring some with her when she visits me, and so I knew I must procure some immediately. I then headed for the deli, where I ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States tourdev... is set on and around Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain is a giant mountain made of stone (surprise!) that you can walk up and on or take the skyrail. We compromised and took the skyrail up and walked down. From up top there are amazing views of Atlanta and the Georgian countryside.

The highlight of the day for us, and the main reason we came, was the Sky Hike adventure course. This ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States bekandjesse... ever taken and one that provided me with some 'real' experiences that went beyond the usual: moments of exhilaration, meeting & making new friends, and even a harrowing moment or two. I loved it all! A day hasn't gone by in the past year without thoughts of my brief time in India and the hope of returning in the near future particularly to refresh my Varanasi experience.

'Truth Alone ...
Atlanta, United States yogigAll good things must come to an end..., "they" say.
I guess so, but if you're lucky (or just an excellent planner)... more good things await you around the next corner.

I had a great trip. I met interesting people, saw amazing sights, ate delicious (and not so delicious) foods, and had many new experiences I will remember for the rest of my life. I'm sure there is so much more to say... but even after everything, it's still good to be home!

Atlanta, Georgia, United States lolly13... was too big to be in my carryon bag. He said I could go back and check my bag with the airline but that would cost me $15 to $25. I told him no and I hope he enjoyed the honey and went on my way to the gate.

It was a 5 hour flight back to Atlanta and we arrived home around 9:00 p.m.

After football, we went to one of their good buddies apartments and proceeded to play rock band (my first time) and lose track of time (finished at around 4 am).

Slept in the following day, played some tennis and went to lunch at Fado's, an authentic Irish Pub (the bartenders had real Irish accents) and had a few pints ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States ericstripWe waited on the runway fo about 45 minutes then we took off. Those new GPS screens showed we circled several times over the Carolinas before heading north again. We circled again in NY then the pilot said we did not have enough gas to continue circling so we detoured to Syracuse to refuel. We were able to make phone calls and at this time it looked like there was no way to catch my flight. By the time we took off it was too late. I cried!!!
Atlanta, Georgia, United States gloshiv... just east of Atlanta before getting lost in the big city at night then make our way to their place in the morning. Thursday morning we're off to find George and Joanne. Taking I-20 into Atlanta at 9 am Friday morning may not have been the wisest of decisions. Traffic is jammed and we get to see life in Atlanta from the freeway. We eventually pass through the centre to the Northeast side where they live. Getting there just before noon, so not too ...
