San Diego spreads over a range of inlets and harbours, estuaries and mountains. Stretching all the way down to Mexico, it is a collection of communities that all rub along nicely together, or that's what it looks like anyway. I bet there are the usual massive crime problems and the homeless are incredibly visible in contrast to the 'American-ness’ of it all.

In charge of the painting division, it was awesome to have people so willing and eager to do a great job - and to have all the children from the Orphanage and from around the community to come and join us. Paint was flying, brushes handed out in abundance and rollers never short of a task, as everyone pitched in to get the job done. Our joy and smiles grew all the more ...

... up in fiery hues, casting stunning silhouettes of the islands as it's shades reflect off the cool depths of the Pacific. Breathtaking.
Knowing there is just that one vast ocean between us, it somehow makes me feel that little bit closer to home. (LoL, which could also be due to the fact that we only have 4 more weeks before our flight takes us back that way... ;)


With one week down, are excited for what the next month holds for us here in Tijuana...
