      ... experience gave us an insiders view of US medicine. Once we got to the clinic, early today, we were struck by the complete lack of queues . Self evidently people will self medicate for as long as humanly possible before handing over cash to medical trusts. There's a hefty front desk admin team too, they're checking insurance getting faxed approval and billing addresses and making you sign disclaimers so no ambulance ...

      ... and chatting with them certainly made the wait much more bearable. Before I knew it, I was crammed in an elevator, being hurled up 103 floors (over 1,400 feet) to the top of the tower. It was absolutely incredible up there. The view went on for miles and miles.       ... Chicago. Only I went up in the 94 stories in 40 seconds elevator to the John Hancock 360 Observatory and went on the Tilt - where you stand in a glassed area within the windows, which tilts 30 degrees down to give you a spectacular view of Chicago. Amazing. :) We're in New York... Finally - another long wait for the shuttle bus and a forgotten reservation at our hotel. But it's all sorted out and we're good to go :) M&M ...

      ... dogs with Julie and Sandy, but they were collecting them all up and removing them. Got in there just in time yesterday it seems. We did intend to walk the rest of the way to Navy Pier, but we hit a dead end, so jumped in a waiting taxi to save time instead.
