This entry has little to do with anything other than boredom. We haven't traveled anywhere or done anything overly exciting. There were drummers in unisex red pleather halter tops, "traditional" dancers, the shiniest school band you've ever seen and a 6 year old boy singing a solo in front of 1000 students and teachers because he simply loves to sing. And because there was a technical malfunction with a drum kit. Oh, and make-up. So much make-up.

Back in Wuhan after 7 months and its great to se Erica again. I also have been doing some meeting with her classes to talk about Ali's and My round the world trip. It even more amazing to them then to us as not too many people in China get to travel abroad and they definately would not sell everything they own to do it. so my health keeps on fluctuating. between **** and utter ****. it's now a given that during my time in china, my nose will be stuffy and my throat will be scratchy. i will spend the first 10 mins. of a shower blowing my nose and coughing my lungs out. but the sinus headache will come and go. diarrhea and all the other stomach issues will also come and go.

but my throat is now a flaming ball of pain. it hurts when i swallow. it hurts when i cough. my stomach is now a huge knot ...

... of dungeons and dragons. and i'm sure it's as cool as that game. *snicker* but he bought some roasted chestnuts for us to eat. it's my first time ever eating chestnuts, and they are pretty damn tasty. sweet and soft. i've always thought of them as a christmas thing but apparently they eat them year-round in china. he and vicky took a bus for 25 mins. to a local park because they're supposed to be the best around. i definitely agreed.

... about 45 mins in each to move onwards. We spent a big chunk of the afternoon in there on the first day, and I was one of the few on deck to come out in the afternoon to witness out emergence into the misty river beyond at the final lock. We passed a good deal of the 19 hour journey talking, she was on her way to Shanghai for a job interview and was also the same age as me so was a fellow rooster (got a full explanation of the Chinese calendar) but on further questioning she was actually born just one day after me but on remembering the time difference we worked it out to be less than 12 hours - I was still older though :-)
