Chengdu, Sichuan, China emeric.bensaci... watching the parade in Beijing which lasted all day! It started off in the morning with a massive military parade involving thousands upon thousands of rows of soldiers marching in perfect unison, huge lines of tanks, fly-overs, and plenty of missiles on show! In the evening there was a massive show in Tiananmen Square on a par with the Olympic Opening Ceremony, with thousands of performers and floats and lots of smily-smily Chinese people on show. This was ...

Our teacher is You laoshi, at least on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He is a really funny guy, probably about 30 years old, and he speaks really clearly. He taught Chinese at ASU last year. He started out telling us a story about his old cell phone number, which had the ...
... I was surprised and impressed by the 92 acre Center that has imitated the pandas' natural habitat to make it the most desirable environment for breeding and living.
The hostel guides made sure we made it by 9:00 sharp to see the feeding time. Trying to ignore the clicking cameras and chattering tourists, I enjoyed observing the slow-moving, hungry creatures roll around with and devour bamboo shoots, while videotaping the ...

I missed who was announced the winner because the contest went longer than we had planned and made several people somewhat late for our farewell banquet. The banquet was fantastic. Linda danced and then there was an endless string of pictures. Several of ...
Chengdu, Sichuan, China chengdu09... was a rather huge church with small uncomfortable pews. It was way crowded and reminded me a lot of Church back home. I look around for a seat and got waved down by a nice looking older lady so i sat down. The thing was it was behind a very large pillar so I couldn't see the priest. The mass started and the priest walked in from the side. It started off with a song and the normal thing but then all of a sudden we were singing again and the priest was ...

Chengdu, China tibetfoot... Al & Em xxx (P.S. Al's Mum - despite your heroic efforts & many hours spent toiling at your trusty sewing machine, we regret to inform you that Al's well-travelled camouflaged shorts met their final demise in Chengdu. After an expected rip to the buttocks & some debate about whether to post them home to your skilled hand, the decision was made to toss them rather hopefully into the 2nd hand clothing basket at our hostel.)
