... br> According to our information, Koln was approx 95% destroyed diluting WWII. So most of the city has been built or rebuilt since 1945. However, it seems the church was not among the casualties.

Then we jumped on a boat for a river cruise along the Rhine. It was only about 45 minutes and it brought us up river to another part of Koln. During the little cruise we had some kaffee and kuchen.

... are at the end if there life cycle and the tips are looking really tired but the tubers are maturing nicely. We took a quick look around the grading facility, all the potatoes are graded and delivered. They have a number of facilities around the area to handle the volume, have about 8000 ha x 50 = 400,000 MT of potatoes to deal with. We then went with Andre to lunch ...

... descents down the Rhein. In total we paddled, I say paddled but a lot of the time we just went with the current, a total of eight kilometres in forty five minutes. Once on dry land I threw off the wet overalls and collected the stuff which was kept dry and safe during my trip down the Rhein, and bus ride back up.

... river. I went up on top, but it was a bit cold and windy, so I spent most of my time inside the front lounge where you could watch the world go by on the banks of the Rhine River. I couldn't keep the smile from my face. It was fantastic! It was just as I had thought and hoped it would be and more. It was like canoeing down a river, but not having to work at it!

Sandy did what all good ...
