... candy and flowers ("Kamillo" and "Trushia"), but we also learned the names and a few lyrics of the 3 famous German songs we heard playing all weekend. The songs have now been on repeat on all of our Itunes for the past week... By the end of the parade, we boarded the bus back home with a bag full of candies, chocolates, and flowers.

Although we arrived back to Freiburg to a week full of midterms and deadlines for papers, our carnival weekend made it totally worth it.

Oh what a witty title!

This weekend Mummy and Nana visited for a long weekend, which was soooo lush! The weather was incredible - mini heat wave! - and it was really nice to relax and discover a few more new places around where I live!

... kisses to all the people in the parade and shouting 'Kölle Alaaf!' which means 'Cologne above all!' in Kölsch, and is the typical greeting during Karneval.
