... amazing how they all managed to dry in the rain and dark over-night... This afternoon's concert was at the same venue as last nights - a similar size audience. Again they were very slow to get going but by the end were fully into it and wanted more. Nigel ventured into the audience again and found a young boy to conduct the band. ... Tomorrow is mid-autumn day in China so it's a public holiday. This is a time when families come together - which explains why there have been a lot of weddings in town. Our concert is mid-afternoon. ... quite amusing – however they find everything about us amusing. Tonight at a steamboat restaurant (cooking your own raw meat/noodles/mushrooms/greens in a boiling broth at the table) the waitresses knew NO English and there certainly wasn’t any help from the menu. ... Art Museum which is where the 2010 World Expo took place. The building is outstanding- never seen anything like it- incredible architecture. The art was very nice. We watched a little film about three cartoon monks and then looked at some traditional style paintings.
