    Going home

A travel blog entry by rhodetrip67 on Aug 02, 2015

Stayed over in Charlotte last night. It was our first experience with AirBNB and it went well. Jonathan and his partner were very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. On the other hand our flight experience was not nearly as good. USAir/American Airlines really screwed the pooch. They were asking for volunteers to give up seats and we decided ...

You quickly remember why travel is an experience in chaos and long, long airline sky and terminal time.

Our plane was about an hour late leaving Madrid. Good thing, pilot picked up speed and arrived in Charlotte, South Carolina at our appointed time. As we were discussing out options, it made sense to do 2 nights in the heart of Nascar country, and do a solid 5 hour drive to Savannah on Friday morning. So as it plays out, we have all day tomorrow in Charlotte to visit race ...

... we soon decided that this was better. We realized that this way, we could leave early, without having to actually bail out before the game was over. Since it was very shortly up to 98 degrees, and not a SCRAP of shade to be seen in the entire stadium, we were okay with this plan.

The game was actually a pretty good one. Hagerstown is leading the league; Kannapolis is not. (Tied, in fact, for ...
