After months of researching, planning, making reservations and in the past week, packing and weighing, we're finally beginning our Europe 2015 adventure. Our first flight today originated in Greenville at 12:50 (on time) and will take us to Charlotte. Its 2:00 p.m. and we're in Charlotte, waiting for our flight to, of all places, Philadelphia. This place is beautiful. Surrounded by forest and bushland and is quiet and peaceful. Another dinner of smoked chicken on the grill with beans and salads was yummy. Their families were very nice and showed us the southern hospitality that we have experienced since being here.

... I belong to an ENORMOUS extended family and out of those hundreds of family members, my mom, dad, two brothers and I are the only leaves on this family tree that have ever lived north of the Mason-Dixon Line. Yes, we observe the Mason-Dixon Line.We moved away, before I was born, and never moved back. Everyone else in the clan still lives in S. Carolina (save one family offshoot in N. Carolina). Now you know where my love of grits ...
