    Left Austin about 10am with a nice send-off from the family. Drove north up I-35 until Waco, then turned northeast. Stopped at Collins Street Bakery in Waco and got a really delicious sandwich, plus a blueberry angel food cake, and some coffee. Jumped rope for a few minutes, then continued on highway 31 (much prettier than 35). Went through Corsicana, Athens, Sulphur Springs. Short break in ...

    ... in the shimmering lake for a little while, I got my gear ready and prepped my bike. It's been a long time since I rode a bike for any kind of distance and before I had made it to the other side, I was ready to quit and take a nap.     We made a stop in Mineola, Texas . . . in what appeared to be a bit of a worn out town. I snapped a picture . . . with three stores on a main street . . . "Vintage Charm," "Taste of Italy," and an old hotel "Beckham Hotel Coffee Shoppe!" They have a certain 'charm,' but I doubt it is everyone's cup of tea (or coffee!).
