    ... see the kite festival, we picked up some Chinese fast food (a sort of turnover with meat and veggies) and squeezed our way into the crowd. The sky was filled with thousands of kites of all colors, sizes and shapes and the crowd was enjoying itself. We only had 45 min before leaving to catch the train, but it was worth the stop to experience the festive atmosphere. Fun to see people enjoying themselves so much.

    ... from abroad were excited to talk to Americans! They were recruited by an agency for a one year contract, have 2 forty minute "conversation" sessions a week with same group of 50 students. These are rote conversations such as "my name is", how old are you". British student told me that only one student of his (she was at our lunch) can carry on a meaningful conversation.
