... minute stop here and we were off again, towards Innsbruck. This drive was through a lot of tunnels through mountains , one of them was 11kms long, during this time Bern took the time to explain all our optional extras. Our lunch stop was at an enormous service centre. There were loads of trucks parked there because in Europe, truckies are not allowed to be on the road between 10:00pm Saturday night and 10:00pm Sunday night. So they ...

We are very close to the German-Austrian border here, and returned to the area where we rode the luge yesterday, complete with flag-waving and national anthems going and returning! We drove to Schwangau, the childhood summer home of Bavarian King Ludwig II and the site also of the romantic castle that he built and was not able to finish due to his early death under mysterious circumstances. We left lovely Rothenburg this morning and hit the autobahn again. Packing up after only one night was hard. We have a ritual as we dress each day, making sure that we have our tour-required money belt on, and our little Ex Officio "pocket safes" that clip onto our bra straps and slip into that bra cup. ... and waterfalls along the way. On to Innsbruck where two Olympics were held. You can see the ski jump which the locals call Star Ship Enterprise. The pastries in the windows of the shops are incredible. I'd like to hire an Austrian pastry chef and open a business lol. No Twinkie's here! The city itself is picturesque but nothing of any special historical or photo value. It is also very clean, and it is obvious the locals take great pride in there ...

... station sat next to a spectacular mountain lake, Lake Eibsee. It was 3:30 and the final train leaving back to the Zugspitzbahn departed at 5:15, so we debated whether we'd have time to finish a hike around the entire lake. Still uncertain, we decided to go for it. We set a good pace and made good time, finishing what looked like the first third of the lake in 20 minutes. However, a second section of the lake had been hidden by an island and as we crested a hill we realized ...
