Oslo, Norway to Gothenburg, Sweden to Malmo, Sweden all in one day! Yup, today is the day we made our way down to (almost) Copenhagen. We stopped in Gothenburg on the street dedicated to Posiden for lunch. Gothenburg is supposedly known as the" gastronomic metopolis of Sweden". Well, you can't prove it by me, but we did have so amazing shrimp sandwiches. There must of been a pound of shrimp on each one. We then continued on to Malmo to where the new Oresund Bridge, built in 2000, connects Swe...
Malmö, Skåne, Sweden houghtalingAgain, we woke up to rain and fog, not able to enjoy the view. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet though. It was developed my the professional athletes of Norway, During breakfast we browsed through the travelers guide we had obtained from the front desk. Noticing that they offered a museum with well persevered viking ships we headed out. All I can say is WOW, UNBELIEVABLE! These Viking ships were found in separate burial chambers in Norway. According to the information given, the Vikings buil...

... He also worked with Paul Crutzen in Germany.. it's crazy how it seems that everyone knows everyone else in this community.

All in all I had an amazing time. There is something about the face-to-face contact and the exchange of ideas that seems pretty invaluable. I learned so much from just meeting new people and hearing new ideas. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing; I think traveling before really calmed my "work nerves," and the people that ...

Oslo, Oslo, Norway cariverga... mounds for members of the upper classes buried hundreds of years ago. Three ships in varying condition were on display. The Tune ship dates from around 900AD, the Oseberg ship was built in the early 800s, and the Gokstad ship was built around 890. It was great to see these boats, and I was amazed at how good the condition of some of them was.

Following this I went to the Kontiki Museum, which was dedicated to the Kon-tiki ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway marksadventures... The conversation was always polite, but never boring. There was some talk of different cruises people had been on - but Dave and I were the consummate "foodies" - asking lots of food prep questions, and letting people know about our Xmas party Wine Tasting and tree trimming we had every year. One fellow was under the misapprehension we traveled to all the themes we use for the parties - but we corrected him - no they are just themes, which we find ways to cook ...

Oh My God (notice the capital G) I am walking across St Peter's square of the Vatacian city, or as I like to call it "Pete's Place" Sorry got to go, off to Bergen now to stay with Jim and Alex (dolomite's ride) ........ and do another ride after 2 weeks off the bike. Oslo, Oslo, Norway gtmicka... some respite from the sun. It would have looked a strange sight I'm sure if anybody had come along at that moment, all they would have seen was a lone backpack in the middle of the road and two legs sticking vertically out of a hole in the ground. The feeling was amazing though, so intense, i felt energized to go forward again. After another few miles i was nearing the hostel and i gave into an urge that was nagging at me the whole day, i jumped down onto the river bank and ...

King Christian IV (1588-1648) had the castle modernised and converted into a Renaisssance castle and royal residence.
