This was advertised on the net as 3-4star Hotel but was in fact only a motel about 3 miles from Hollywood. It cost more than the OMNI a high class hotel. Most disappointing.

Dont even bother - they couldn't run a raffle

The people who run this place shouldn't be running a hotel. They have no idea. Arrived after a 14hr flight to find that I no longer had a booking. They weren't even going to help me. Was told place was full. Was scheduled to stay for 3 nights over NY 05. Could only offer 1 nite. Rooms were basic - bathroom shocking. Upon checking out - was then told that we could stay - hello - we just packed ! I signed two authorisations for credit card only to find 1 amount on bill at home - $40 over what was authorised. This is fraud. Location - definitely need a car - shop across road and some restaurants in area. Area is OK - Thai Town. Handy to Metro. Just dont trust the management - the're service is utterly terrible.

    Days Inn - Stay Away

This was probably one of my worst hotel experiences ever. First, we were looking for a hotel to stay at so we went to several to get prices. When we went to Days Inn - Hollywood, they qouted us a price which was out of our price range (over $100, we wanted to spend $100 or less) so we thanked the receptionist and were walking out when she asked us how much we were willing to pay. I've never bargained at a hotel, so this was the first warning sign. Two minutes after we to got to our room, all we could hear was banging and loud laughing from the room above. The walls were paper thin. My boyfriend immediately went to ask for another room on the top floor and they told us they had no other rooms. There were obviously many rooms free (the hotel wasn't even half booked) and the receptionist finally gave us another room after about 15 minutes of us refusing to keep the room. Even on the top floor, we could hear people all around us because of the bad insulation. At about 2am in the morning when we were sound asleep, we got a phone call from management telling us that if we didn't keep the noise down someone would come up. I couldn't believe it. I've never had such bad service and been in such a creepy hotel. I couldn't fall back asleep and we left the hotel once dawn broke.

    Worst hotel service

Location is great if you are travelling by ground transportation. You can easily get your way around Hollywood by taking the MTA.

Hotel service is the worst. My husband was the plumber. The toilet was stucked. Called front desk and told us to get the plunger by ourself and to clear the bloat by ourself. Afterwards, he told us to bring that plunger back after we finished. I asked the front desk is this work to be done by a guest. He said yes. I was so mad and said there's no hotel or motel that I have ever stayed before that I have to clear the bloat in the toilet. What kind of service is that? When I asked to get a hairdryer. At first the same front desk person said he would look for it and would send us one. Then I went to the front desk and tried to get it. He said he could not find it and may be one will become available in the morning. I doubt he ever find it. He was busy talking on a cell phone and it's 9:30 pm at night. Not at all busy with hotel check-in time.

I stayed at this Hotel In March 2004. The Hotel was what I expected for the price I paid for the room about $60 a night. Locationwise it is ok because you can walk to the kodak theatre which is on Hollywood boulevard but to be honest without a car it is a bit akward to get around.

You can get around but you will have to connect quite abit, bus is your best bet. The Breakfast is awful don't try it they advertise it as continental but that's a lie.

The neighbourhood was not great but I felt safe they have a small shopping complex opposite the hotel and they have a nice restaurant opposite the hotel to your right it was nice and the food was good. There are many restaurant on hollywood boulevard but unless some recommends one don't pick one at radom because if you do it might not be beneficial for your stomach.

If your looking for somewhere to stay for cheap it not so bad and they reality is get whay you pay for.

Nice Hotel, IN The Middle Of Nowhere

I stayed here for 7 nights in Aug 2004

The hotel is ok, the room was spacious and cosy.

Amenities were ok, including a fridge and iron & board.

The pool was small but was ok, but the hotel was situated in the middle of knowhere, about 1.5 miles from the walk of fame and the Theaters of Hollywood Blvd.

The metro was about 100 meters from the hotel.

There is one restaurant nearby, Sizzler and NO BARS, though there were a few Thai restaurants.

OMG !! what a nightmare This was booked months in advance. big mistake

Arrived late 10.30 pmafter a long journey.. Booked in and straight out again. Had to spend the next few hours with kids in the car looking for another hotel, but is was still worth it!

The rooms were not very clean, it looked like someone had been sick over the side of the bed. The clean sheets tried to cover a the vile stain.

Ash eveywhere, noisy room next door.

The manager on duty was really nice and let us look at other rooms but this really was not for us.

Give this one a wide berth!

    Dont Do It!!!

Booked this hotel several months in advanced..It was HORRIBLE!!The pool was closed by the health department.. The area was bad and the hotel staff rude and uncooperative.. The overall hotel and rooms were dirty and unkept.. Dont believe the ad!! It is not close to Universal Studios and its not in a safe, area! Hope you learn from our mistakes!!

    Big rooms bad neighboorhood

Well, the price is fair for Hollywood area. The room (213) was big with an king-size bed. Has air-conditioning, iron table, big bathroom. The room was very clean. Very big windows.

Free parking for guests which is a good thing in Hollywood.

A big food market near the motel, little bit expensive.

The motel has one Internet position near the reception desk at the rate of $1= 10 minutes use. No ink in the printer.

    Now, the less good facts:

Getting a king-size bed at first floor was conditioned by acceptance of a bad phone in the room - it's ringing every 20 seconds. The phone have been not repaired during my 3-nights staying and I disconnected the cable without possibility to be called.

While the hotel it's on Hollywood boulevard, it's located quite far from the hot areas of this boulevard in a bad and poor neighboorhood in so called Thai Town. Not a very special security feeling at evening hours.

My room has the windows in the backyard at 15ft from a 4 floors block of flats. This caused a lot of noise from the tenants and their children and cannot leave the window open for fresh air.

Beginning 8.00AM a lot of noise is coming from the maids on the corridors.

The so-called DeLuxe continental breakfast is very poor and is served in a very small room. Some cereals, few old donuts, no butter, no milk no bread.

The little restaurant near the hotel is open only few hours per day, is very dirty and poor food and service. Do not enter in this place.

The reception clerks, were quite OK while of not much help if you asking for road directions or points of interests. Unfortunately, arriving home, I discovered they mistekenly charged me with another night while the receipt says $74 less. I'm still waiting for refund.

The motel is very far from points of interests and no decent restaurants or fastfood on at least 1.5 mile radius.

There are better places to stay closer to hotspots on Hollywood Blvd at slighty higher price.

    It's OK

It's just so-so. The rooms smelled really smokey. Carpet reeks of smoke and permeates thru my non-smoking room.

It is fine, but I probably will stay at a different motel when I come back to Hollywood.

Convenient location. It's a stone's throw from a Metro station. It is close to a food megamarket and a very good family-run Thai restaurant (best Satay ever).

After negotiating a Wendy's diner car park just to get a photo of the Six Flags sign, we made our way back down the highway to our final campground of this holiday, Balboa RV Park in Los Angeles.

We had a bit of a scare on the road when a truck we were passing on our inside had a tyre blow-out alongside us. The noise! We can only assume some of the debris hit the side of the RV as there was an almighty ...

LA airport is a bit behind our local Gatwick with regard to shops and restaurants (there's pretty much nothing) but thankfully the time went quite quickly and before we know it it's time to board our Air New Zealand flight home.

We walked along hollywood boulevard, got a drink at Hooters and went back to podshare. We chilled on the couch for a bit and had another drink and the guys ...
