... no cross country road trip would be complete without seeing the "Gateway to the West"! On our way, we saw signs for the worlds largest golf tee and also the worlds largest wind chime...although we were tempted to stop and see these most intriguing attractions, we had a long drive ahead of us, so we stayed on the highway. Another interesting thing that happened is that we crossed over our first time zone...not sure exactly where, but it was somewhere in SE Illinois....wish ...

The Old Courthouse, next to the arch is also a beautiful looking building, however again, due to the government shut down we were not able to go inside. All in all I found Saint Louis to be a very pleasant little city with several very interesting attractions to visit. However it was a little on the quiet front and for a Saturday afternoon it felt slightly deserted.

Time to get to bed as tomorrow is the first day of flights; we leave at 2:40CT and arrive in San Francisco 8:30PT. We change planes in LAX.

I've never been to San Francisco so looking forward to seeing what I can there.
