    ... the road and even before you arrive there, there are so many beautiful spots along the way. Cars were stopped all over the place to take in the views. We pulled over several times ourselves and hopped out for a better look. The park was founded in 1916.     ... the first night because we were going to be leaving bright and early in the morning to head to Acadia for some hiking and, you guessed it, Jordan's Pond!     Day three of rain here in Bangor. I don't totally mind because it makes sitting on the couch watching Scandal all day seem justified; however, it totally puts a damper on my will to exercise or be productive (sorry, fitbit).     ... schedule as emu racing started at five (which we could not miss!). Yes, you read that right, emu racing. The course was a U-Shaped pen where they corralled 4 emus (with four different colored bandanas) into the starting gates for the race. Though you can't get closer than three feet to the pen, we captured some great photos of the four-month-old prehistoric birds pre-race. Our bet was on red.
